The first non-AMG variant of the SUV known as the Mercedes-Benz G 350d is on sale in India and is operated by a 3.0-liter diesel engine that creates 600 Nm of peak torque. Martin Schwenk who is the CEO of Mercedes-Benz in India and he has newly launched Mercedes-Benz G 350d SUV in the market.

The introduction of the new G 350d is done by the Mercedes-Benz in the country with a price of Rs 1.5 Crore. It is the first non-AMG version of the G-Class that has landed on Indian shores. It was previously known by the name G-Class or the G-Wagen and now it accomplishes 40 years of production this year. This model is considered to be the strongest SUVs designed for military and civilian use as well. 

The new G 350d competes against a lot of offerings comprising the Land Rover Defender, Porsche Cayenne, and the Range Rover Sport. In comparison to the Mercedes G63the biggest change on the Mercedes-Benz G 350d is the option of a more economical engine on offer. It means that its power trigger from the 3.0-liter in-line six-cylinder diesel that belts out 600Nm and 282 bhp of peak torque. Also, its motor comes with a 9-speed automatic transmission and three differential locks for the front and rear axle and center differential. It also has gas-filled shock and All-Wheel Drive absorbers.

The price of the Mercedes G63 is 2.58 Crore on road. The Mercedes G63 was also presented at the launch event but the SUV was with the signature Panamericana grille. From the design point of view, the Mercedes-Benz G 350d has fine differences as compared to the AMG trim. This comprises the Panamericana grille is replaced with a revised bumper with smaller air intakes, a black finished triple slat unit, and twin exhausts at the back instead of quad exhaust with two on each side pushing out beneath the back doors. While the grille gets the massive three-pointed star logo, the SUV looks threatening all the way with its LED taillights, boxy proportions, and round headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights which make the statement.

There is an identical cabin inside the Mercedes-Benz G 350d to that of the Mercedes G63 AMG. Also, it has an extended 12.3-inch display for the infotainment system that runs the latest MBUX interface and the instrument console is now digital. Moreover, it also has a distinct steering wheel and it has been seen on the AMG variant that it misses out on the carbon fiber trims whereas the seats are made up of Artica leather instead of Nappa. It provides one of the biggest spacious cabin and glasshouse areas as the SUV is a five-seater. It has been continued that the SUV has to be built on a ladder-on-frame chassis that makes it ideal off-road. The Mercedes G 350d is a completely built-up CBU unit that comes to India and it is one of the most trending ones in the market.
